Legends

Legends are things that are so widely-spread and well-known to have been around for so long, that it would be silly to question the truth of their existence for even two seconds. Therefore, all legends are true.

Many different cultures have many different legends. Luckily, with the internet, we can now believe all the legends of all the cultures simultaneously, even if they seem contradictory or mutually exclusive at first.

They are usually ancient and very powerful. If you are lucky enough to see a legend, you will forevermore have stories and good conversation topics at parties making you popular and sexy.

Types[]

Pretty much any place or location or locale will have their own "Local Legends", which may be some small-town hero or hero dog, bizarre phenomenon, arcane part of the ancient culture, a weird commercial, or otherwise verbal or nonverbal Lore handed down over generations. Weather is not a 'Legend' no matter where you are because weather falls under the category of 'small talk'. Cities, in particular, are packed with legends and myths shared by the dense population of locals, visitors, immigrants and tourists, in what is commonly referred to as "Urban Legends". Any Legends older than 1997 are considered "Ancient Legends".
