Fire powers can really hurt. Even if they do not hurt the person using them, they will probably backfire and kill the ones they love, burn down an orphanage, or at the very least lose their hair and eyebrows.
People with short-tempers often get these powers, or hot-tempered teen-agers, or people with righteous indignation or sense of justice or revenge, or villains, or arsonists, or those with cleansing religious/genocidal aims, or fantasy-genre mages, Dragonborn, or the Irish.
If one simply does not get hurt by fire, then that's pretty cool. It's especially useful if you have dragon pets, and also extraordinarily coincidental, such as Daenerys Targaryene. However, this power is more akin to invulnerability than anything else.
Others can engulf their own body in flames, so they better hope they have the last power as well. They may be able to shoot jets of flames, roast an entire room, or even fireballs, though this last one can also be attained on its own:
Some people can use their fire power to propel themselves through the air, which doesn't make a lot of sense, but since jets can do this I guess it's okay so shut up.
If you are a lava man then you probably already have a secondary fire power and flame immunity. Woe to those who do not
Fire powered Awesomes need to watch out for water and ice elementals (though they can sometimes overpower them), fire-fighters, glass containers with no oxygen, asbestoes man, and slow-motion music videos.
Fire can be a power that other, way better, multi-powered individuals attain with ease, like a Bachelor's at the Art Institute, or come packaged with a set of other cosmic or elemental powers. For some reason, some can go into space, despite there being no oxygen.
People can trick them into exploding, and then walk away from them all cool and slow.
Fire-bending[]
Firebending, one of the four elemental bending arts, is the pyrokinetic ability to control fire. It is unique among the bending arts, as it is the only one in which the performer can spontaneously generate the element
Using any means or combination of natural-born pyrokinesis, learnt sorcery, mutant powers, alchemy, technological or other physical manipulation, such wielders are dangerous and mysterious, as even they cannot tell you where the source of their fire power comes from, though it may be just normal, every day, run-of-the-mill phlogiston.
Fire power is an area of study within the school of Destruction Magic.
