National Melon Day (the second Sunday in August), is one of Turkmenistan's 24 public holidays since 1994.
Turkmen celebrate their world-famous Turkmenbashi melon, a crossbreed muskmelon. There's dancing, music events and displaying some wonderful Turkmenbashi melons.
